Time for a new post on this blog, isn’t it?

Below is a recording made during my work as a soundengineer at Centerparcs Kempervennen. Colleague Rob Winters sings You raise me up.

The cooperation with Chasing Tales continues after the demo we recorded earlier. On Wednesday June 3 we will again work together at Rotterdam Rocks in the venue called Exit. Doors open at 21:00 hours, entrance € 3,-.

Again, time for some video!

Below you can find some videos of the Harvest Moon concert at Popei. I created the monitor- and front of house mix. The videos are filmed by the popei crew; the sound has been taken directly from the mixing desk combined with a pair ambience microphones in the ceiling. Too bad the videoguys once again swapped the left and right audio channels…

A few video’s from a concert of the band Too red, recorded at Popei. I created the monitor and front of house mix using a 48 channel Aztec Audient mixingconsole. Unfortunately the gig wasn’t recorded by the popei-crew, which is why the recording is of less quality, using just one mic mounted on the camera.

No news on a project this time, but a shameless plug for a band and a concert.

On the edge of Rock, Dance and Techno you can find The Whip, a band originating from Manchester. If I’m not mistaken this was also the city of New Order. However, if you listen to the CD of The Whip you’ll find that both bands have more in common.

That CD, ‘X-marks destination’ was released around march 2008. Importing used to be a bit difficult bit thanks to the internet you can easily arrange that nowadays. A few months later the CD was spinning the player at home and in the car driving to Spain.

Since late summer the CD is also available in the Netherlands, but importing it by yourself is still cheaper.

Anyway, next friday in the Melkweg in Amsterdam and for everyone (like me) who is celebrating Sinterklaas, to be heard next saturday in the Botanique in Brussels. Anybody who knows the Botanique, like where to quickly and cheaply park my car? Because my lesson at SAE Rotterdam ends between 4 and 6, and the concert starts at 8 o’clock. I need to hurry I guess. Just shout if you want to join in!

Maddies Act

Showgroup Maddies Act is a combination of singing, dance, cabaret and maddness! This group exists of 3 man and 3 woman with experience in p.e. dinnershows, musicals.

While purchasing a new PA system, Maddies Act was looking for a sound engineer. After a few try-outs we both indicated to co-operate with each other.

I will make the front of house and monitor mix at their shows.

Blokade, who recorded a demo earlier (read and listen on this page), takes part in the bandcontest BeachBattle. And they need your help!

On saturday november 15th, 2008, they will battle with three other bands in Scheveningen and try to earn a place in the quarterfinal. On that evening the public’s vote counts for 40%. It would be nice if you could join us to dance, enjoy, drink a beer and vote for Blokade

Every visitor will receive a voting paper at the entrance. You can vote for one band and hand in the paper from 22.30 hours till 00.10 hours at the bar. Every visitor can hand in two (!) voting papers at maximum.

Bettina and Dennis, who recorded a demo a few weeks ago (read and listen on this page) have started a band called Before Dawn.

Their first performance (live and semi acousticly) will be next sunday on Chateau Ravage, a radioshow on RTV9, between 20:00 and 21:00 hours. Everyone can listen to it using the webstream on RTV9’s website. You can read the announcement (in Dutch) on Bettina’s weblog.
